Waterloo Region Small Business Centre is proud to be involved with various youth entrepreneurship programs. Our goal is to educate and assist young entrepreneurs in the areas of business planning, and promoting entrepreneurship as a valid career option.

 

 

STARTER COMPANY

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED- PROGRAM COMPLETED

Starter Company is a great opportunity for enterprising young people between the ages of 18-29 who are not enrolled full time in school. The program provides advice and mentorship to help get your business up and running; start-up money to kick off a new business or expand your current business; as well as experience of running a successful business that may help you obtain more traditional financing such as bank loan if you so require in the future.

FUTURPRENEUR

Are you an aspiring young entrepreneur, aged 18 to 39, with a solid business idea? Are you looking for the financial support and expert advice that will help you bring your great business idea to life? Futurpreneur Canada can help. Futurpreneur Canada, (formally CYBF) is a national non-profit organization providing pre-launch coaching expertise, online business resources, financing and industry-leading mentoring to help you start your own successful business.

MENTORSHIP

 

With the philosophy of 'Success comes to those who help others succeed!' The WRSBC Mentorship Program facilitates connections between local entrepreneurs and experienced business professions to solve issues and promote success. Areas for discussion may include: Legal, Management, Financial, Employment, Sales and Marketing and Logistics. The group will also have the opportunity to network with other professionals in their community.

SUMMER COMPANY

 

If you are between the ages of 15-29 and you want to start your own business this summer and be your own boss, then you should consider applying for the 'Summer Company' program. If your application is accepted, you will be eligible to receive an award of up to $3000 - up to $1500 up front to help underwrite start-up costs, and up to $1500 upon successful completion of the program.
