The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the closure of all non-essential businesses and modified operations for those that remain open. Local employers are being forced to rapidly adapt to new technologies and processes, lay off employees, navigate new government programs, and shift production to fulfill urgent needs.
The City of Kitchener, in partnership with the Small Business Centre, has launched a Small Business Recovery Outreach Program to provide virtual support to high-risk industries. The program can help connect business leaders to peer networks, resources, and supports to increase their capacity or competitiveness. As well, the program will also gather industry feedback and help set priorities for municipal action or strategies.
